Recipes with Sara: Sandwich Ring

I found this idea several years ago and sadly, I can’t even remember where it came from. But it’s one of my “go-to” meals for something different and super easy.  Best of all, you can make it super fast and it looks really impressive!

Sara’s Sandwich Ring

2 Tubes of Pillsbury Italian Loaf Bread (you find these by the crescent rolls in the grocery store).
1 Tsp. minced garlic
1 Tsp. Italian seasoning
1 Egg White
Various sandwich meats, veggies and sauces
Open the tubes of bread and form them into a circle. Place them on a greased baking sheet. With a sharp knife, make 8 slits on the bread dough. Mix together the garlic, italian seasoning and egg white and brush the mixture on the bread.   Preheat the oven to 350. Place the bread in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until nice and golden brown. Remove from the oven and take off of the baking sheet immediately to cool.
Slice the bread in half as you would for a sandwich and place whatever lunch meat you want on it. My favorite is Oven Roasted Turkey, Ham and Salami with Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Green Pepper.  Add a little Mustard and Mayo, or maybe a little Italian Salad Dressing and you have one incredibly attractive sandwich that looks like it took a lot of effort.  And it tastes yummy, too!
