Ground Broken on Pigeon Forge Event Center

According to The Knoxville News, construction started on Thursday for the LeConte Center, a 232,000-square-foot multipurpose facility in Pigeon Forge. It is scheduled to open in late summer of 2013.

The LeConte Center will feature a 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall and a 12,000-square-foot multipurpose hall. It will also have several multipurpose meeting rooms, a catering kitchen, food and beverage locations, and pre-function space.

Pigeon Forge also announced on Thursday that it has secured its first booking — the International Gift Exposition in the Smokies/Souvenir Super Show, which will be held for 15 days in November 2013.
