According to The Knoxville News, Wears Gap Road in Sevier County will be closed next Thursday and Friday for tree trimming work.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park announced the road closure on on Friday. Wears Gap Road is the secondary park entrance, providing access from U.S. Highway 321 in Wears Valley to Little River Road about nine miles west of Gatlinburg.
The road will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 19 and 20. Park officials say that the tree trimming will increase visibility around narrow curves.
In the event of inclement weather on either day, the project will be rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 23.
