According to the Knoxville News, a female pedestrian from Virginia was killed late Friday night while trying to cross the Parkway. She was struck by a car.
The tourist’s name is being withheld until the next-of-kin is notified. She was hit near the Howard Johnson Inn at 2825 Parkway and was pronounced dead at LeConte Medical Center.
The 61-year old woman was hit at 11:18 p.m.
