Fall Farmers Markets Promise Fresh Produce

veggiesNewMmmm … I LOVE Farmers Markets! I especially love them in the fall, with the crisp morning air. Fabulous. Here are two Smoky Mountain area Farmers Markets that are still going through fall:

Gatlinburg Farmers Market

This is the fourth season for the Gatlinburg Farmers Market. It is open every Saturday until October 12 from 8 until 11:30 a.m. It’s located in the Alamo Steakhouse parking lot on Highway 321 in Gatlinburg.

The farmers market has several regular vendors, including Catskill Farms, which specializes in garlic and other produce. Catskill Farms prides itself on also offering 100% organic free range, grass-fed cattle. Lexi’s Gourmet Creations is another vendor. Owned by Kelly Reis, Lexi’s Gourmet Creations sells soup mixes, salad dressings, spice blends, and sauces.

For more information, visit the Gatlinburg Farmers Market website.

University of Tennessee Farmers Market

The UT Farmers Market is open on Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m. at the UT Gardens on Neyland Drive in Knoxville. It lasts until October 23.

The market has fresh food, local food, entertainment, children’s events, and educational information.
